Compliance Specialist Regulatory

The Public Service Commission is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our Regulatory Compliance Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with state laws, administrative rules, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to consumer inquiries and negotiate disputes between regulated companies and their customers.
  • Facilitate public comment and access to Commission proceedings.
  • Research, interpret, and audit utility compliance with state laws, administrative rules, and regulations.
  • Assess and prepare reports of consumer assistance requests, including findings and resolution.
  • Recommend corrective actions for violations of laws, rules, tariffs, or policies.
  • Process registrations and insurance compliance documents.
  • Coordinate with staff on dockets and evaluate testimony or comments from parties.
  • Examine and evaluate compliance with regulations for standard and operating ratio-based ratemaking for water and sewer utilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the use of numbering resources by telecommunications carriers.
  • Evaluate interconnection agreements between incumbent local exchange carriers and competitive carriers.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree and three years of job-related experience.
  • Related combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Preferred experience with consumer relations or assessing compliance with state or federal regulations.
