Executive Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Kaskaid Hospitality. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that every guest has a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and Manage Staff: Oversee the scheduling and management of kitchen staff to ensure optimal labor costs and efficient service.
  • Food Cost Control: Determine food and supply requirements using production systems and control food costs to maintain profitability.
  • Supply Chain Management: Ensure the availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
  • Team Development: Teach, lead, and motivate staff in a positive manner to promote a culture of excellence.
  • Menu Planning: Coordinate the introduction of new menu items from corporate executive chef to staff.
  • Food Production: Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food.
  • Food Preparation: Facilitate the correct preparation of all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders within specified time limits.
  • Food Handling: Store and properly handle raw or prepared foods and non-food supplies, marking date and item.
  • Food Safety: Handle food in a manner consistent with local health department guidelines and follow proper food handling techniques.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to Home Office and facilitate outsourcing of repairs.
  • Staff Support: Liaison for staff issues, reporting all issues to Human Resources.
  • Uniform and Grooming: Follow all designated uniform, grooming, safety, and sanitation rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: ServeSafe Certification & Food Handlers Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise and motivate others while acting as a role model.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Effective communication, problem-solving, planning, organizational, and creative skills.
  • Time Management: Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks for efficient service.
  • Delegation: Ability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Judgment: Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptions.
  • Integrity: Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Microsoft Office: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Kitchen Equipment: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, steamers, mixers, and knives.
