Job Description

**Job Summary**

AllSTEM Connections is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary support for local area (LAN) and wide area (WAN) networks, as well as PC support when needed.
  • Plan, test, and implement upgrades to our business systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
  • Integrate new software applications, evaluating and recommending alternative solutions to meet our business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendor capabilities to provide required products and services.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Provide application orientation and basic customer IT training to ensure our users are proficient in using our systems.
  • Troubleshoot servers, software, drivers, Active Directory, GPO, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft applications, and specialized agency applications.
  • Deploy and analyze system patches on servers and workstations, ensuring our systems are secure and up-to-date.
  • Monitor and configure backup jobs for servers, ensuring our data is protected and recoverable.
  • Install, configure, and maintain SAN and NAS systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and reference material for system operation and technical support.
  • Develop and maintain training materials for users or system support staff.

Requirements:

  • Seven to ten years of system administration experience, including configuring, installing, and troubleshooting operating systems, software, and hardware, and connecting peripherals.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with experience.
  • Associates degree of Tech School with experience.
  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with experience.
  • Driver License (In-state travel is expected).
