Position Overview:
The Automation Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering on-shift technical support and contributing to the design, execution, and upkeep of the control systems, information systems, and telecommunication networks at the Hill's Tonganoxie Plant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), specifically Allen Bradley ControlLogix and GuardLogix, as well as Wonderware-based Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Panelview systems.
- Oversee and resolve issues related to plant floor electrical, control, and pneumatic components, including vision systems, industrial robots, valves, motors, loop controllers, and various measurement and instrumentation systems.
- Serve as a technical resource for operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, providing troubleshooting support as needed.
- Spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing process reliability, reducing waste, improving product quality, ensuring safety, and managing costs to align with business objectives.
- Develop, implement, and sustain both hardware and software components of plant floor systems, control systems, and business networks.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing controls engineering.

Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Wonderware/AVEVA System Platform and Microsoft SQL databases.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting, as well as familiarity with Industrial Networks (Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, HART).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot various electrical circuits.
- Familiarity with ladder logic programming and the ability to create or modify CAD drawings.

Work Environment:
- Flexibility to support a 24/5 operation, with potential for 24/7 coverage in the future.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of $90,000 - $114,000 USD, with additional annual bonuses and profit-sharing opportunities.
