We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Faculty Appointments Committee in their mission to recruit and appoint faculty members. The successful candidate will provide administrative and technical assistance, scheduling, arranging travel, and other general support to the committee and faculty members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling interviews, coordinating with the Faculty Appointments Committee, candidates, and faculty members.
  • Support Faculty Appointments Committee members, including taking minutes in meetings, scheduling, and calendar management.
  • Guide candidates around campus and serve as a point of contact for candidates during their visits to Vermont Law and Graduate School.
  • Assist with processing reimbursements, credit card reconciliations, and payment vouchers for expenses related to candidate campus visits or travel.
  • Assist candidates with travel arrangements for campus visits and/or interviews.
  • Maintain files, both electronic and paper.
  • Provide administrative support, including printing, photocopying, and scanning, and other tasks as needed.
  • Request support from other departments as needed, such as IT for technology assistance and Buildings and Grounds for maintenance needs.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree plus two or more years of relevant experience.
  • Strong calendar management skills required. Event or travel planning experience a plus.
  • Understanding of and appreciation for inclusion, including the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, identities, and viewpoints.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and maintain recordkeeping systems.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of budgets and cost estimating and processing.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing technological work environments.
  • Solid computer skills, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment; experience with Microsoft Office (365) applications, and virtual work environments.
