Administrative Assistant for Faculty Recruiting
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Faculty Appointments Committee, including scheduling interviews, coordinating with faculty and candidates, and maintaining files.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating with faculty and candidates.
- Maintain files, both electronic and paper.
- Provide administrative support, including printing, photocopying, and scanning.
- Request support from other departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree plus two or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong calendar management skills required.
- Understanding of and appreciation for inclusion, including the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, identities, and viewpoints.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative relationships.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and maintain recordkeeping systems.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
- Basic knowledge of budgets and cost estimating and processing.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing technological work environment.
- Solid computer skills, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment; experience with Microsoft Office (365) applications, and virtual work environments.
Working Conditions:
- Primary work is done sitting and/or standing at a desk.
- Attendance at events and meetings after traditional business hours may be required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and reorganize under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel to conferences and events.
- Must be able to work legally within the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without basic accommodations.
