Certified Physician Assistant in Primary Care
3 weeks ago
Position Overview:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) to serve as a Primary Care Provider (PCP). This role involves delivering direct clinical care to our customer-owners, managing health services for a designated panel, and collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals to develop medical protocols and treatment plans.
Community Focus:
SCF is committed to serving a primary demographic of Alaska Native individuals associated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and other Alaska Native and American Indian populations within our service area. A deep understanding of the cultural backgrounds and healthcare needs of these communities is essential for fulfilling SCF's vision of promoting holistic wellness—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical care to assigned customer-owners.
- Collaborate with medical staff to create and implement treatment protocols.
- Manage a panel of patients, ensuring continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) license in Alaska, along with an active Collaborative Agreement.
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
- Must meet all criteria for associate medical staff membership and obtain necessary service privileges.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory; additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS may be required based on specialty.
Health and Safety Compliance:
SCF prioritizes the health and safety of both customers and employees. Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a prerequisite for employment. The selected candidate will need to adhere to all health screening and immunization requirements, including MMR, Varicella, and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Background Check Standards:
As part of the employment process, candidates must comply with SCF's Background Check Policy, which includes adherence to regulations set forth by the Alaska Barrier Crimes/Conditions and Background Checks, the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, and the Social Security Act.
Employment Preference:
In alignment with the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, SCF maintains a policy of preference for Alaska Native and American Indian candidates in hiring, contracting, and training.
