The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) to serve as a Primary Care Provider (PCP). This role involves delivering direct clinical care to customer-owners within the designated area, overseeing the health management of a patient panel, and collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals to develop medical protocols and treatment plans.
SCF is committed to serving a primary demographic of Alaska Native individuals affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), as well as Alaska Native and American Indian populations within SCF's service area. A comprehensive understanding of the cultural backgrounds and healthcare needs of these communities is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality clinical care to assigned customer-owners.
- Manage and coordinate healthcare services for a defined patient panel.
- Collaborate with other clinical staff to establish and implement effective medical protocols.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) license in the State of Alaska, along with an active Collaborative Agreement.
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
- Must meet all criteria to obtain associate medical staff membership and necessary service privileges.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, with additional certifications (ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, PALS) as required for specialty areas.
Employee Health and Background Check Requirements:
SCF prioritizes the health and safety of both customers and employees. Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a prerequisite for all SCF personnel. The selected candidate will need to adhere to all job-related health screening and immunization requirements prior to commencing employment, including MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Additionally, the successful candidate must comply with SCF's Background Check Policy, which encompasses the standards set forth by the Alaska Barrier Crimes/Conditions and Background Checks regulations, the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, the Crime Control Act of 1990, and the exclusion provisions of the Social Security Act.
