We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Dialysis Patient Care Technician at our clinic in Wasilla, AK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care for and monitor patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.
  • Prepare dialysis machines and their components for treatment.
  • Transport patients, record patient's weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate.
  • Explain dialysis procedure and operation of hemodialysis machine to patient before treatment to allay anxieties.
  • Inspect and clean area of access (fistula, graft, or catheter).
  • Inspect equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity (proportion of chemicals to water), and temperature to ensure conformance to safety standards.
  • Start patient treatment according to physician order.
  • Monitor patient for adverse reaction and hemodialysis machine for malfunction.
  • Assist in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors.
  • Successful completion of our dialysis training program, including demonstrated competency, within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline.
  • Must be flexible to work most days/times.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to organize time and tasks well.
  • Required use of problem-solving, analytical, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Must have interpersonal skills necessary to work with patients, staff, and all other individuals as required.
  • Ability to multi-task in an efficient, professional, and calm manner.
