Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Center Construction Project Manager with MEP expertise to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as experience in managing complex construction projects in the data center industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and execute comprehensive construction plans for data center projects.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment needed for construction activities.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among project stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data center construction project management.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including design principles, installation methods, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Procore, or Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working with MEP subcontractors and vendors.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to data center construction.
- PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
