Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic Journeyman to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our construction and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical problems, identify and implement remedies
• Repair, assemble, and maintain various mechanical and hydraulic equipment, including cranes, winches, gearboxes, clutches, and pumps
• Use Cat ET and Cummins Insite to troubleshoot equipment faults
• Read diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information
• Ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• 3+ years of mechanical experience
• Trade Certification or equivalent helpful, but not necessary
• 24V electrical experience desired
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site
• Ability to work a 28 on 14 off 12 hr rotation
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot hydraulic drawings and systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and mechanical drawings
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment
• Proficient knowledge of equipment related to the construction industry
• Ability to communicate with contractors, vendors, and other trades
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools
Working Conditions
• Constantly move about a construction/industrial site, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling
• Work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical, and background check
• Must possess a valid Driver's license
• TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential (preferred)
• Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels
