Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of early intervention programs and providing direct services to infants and toddlers with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation of early intervention programs and services
  • Provide direct services to infants and toddlers with special needs, including assessment, instruction, and consultation
  • Participate as a member of the primary service provider team and maintain knowledge of current trends in service provision for children with special needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two years of related experience
  • OR One year of experience at the lower-level Behavioral Health Counselor 1 (HCP100) or position equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood, or Special Education
  • One year of professional experience providing services to or teaching children under the age of 5
  • Experience administering a variety of standardized assessment tools
