Job Title: Behavioral Health Specialist

Wellspring Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Girls' Residential Program, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our participants.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Specialist will work closely with our participants to help them develop healthy boundaries, self-care skills, and positive behaviors. You will provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to our participants, as well as collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to participants, including developing daily schedules and ensuring follow-through on tasks.
  • Follow all Receiving Center policies and procedures, as well as the Participant Handbook.
  • Report and record participant progress with various interventions.
  • Take lead responsibility for writing statements regarding critical incidents.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in areas such as bilingual support, nutrition, fitness, medication management, and pro-social activities.
  • Lead skills-building groups and activities during non-school hours.
  • Model behavior management and de-escalation skills to participants and staff.
  • Actively engage with participants in group or one-on-one settings to ensure stability and prevent critical incidents.
  • Complete 15-minute bed checks for participants during sleeping hours.
  • Administer and document medication use of participants.
  • May administer random drug screens.
  • Ensure adherence to program guidelines and provide safety checks.
  • Complete accurate and detailed documentation daily.
  • Assist with security and security support as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum four years of related experience, such as mental or behavioral health experience with adolescents and families.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds, work for long periods at a computer, and drive a company vehicle as needed.
  • Satisfactory criminal history background check and fingerprint records check determination.
  • Documentation from a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional of a health screening examination within 30 days of hiring.
  • Current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a triennial training program in first aid.
