Job Title: Behavioral Health Specialist

Wellspring Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Girls' Residential Program, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our participants.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Specialist will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide a supportive environment for our participants. This includes modeling and encouraging positive behaviors, providing crisis intervention, and collaborating with staff to implement treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision to participants and guidance for behavioral health technicians
  • Develop daily schedules, assign tasks, and ensure follow-through by end of shift
  • Follow all Receiving Center policies and procedures, as well as what is outlined in the Participant Handbook
  • Report and record participant progress with various interventions
  • Take lead responsibility for writing statements regarding any critical incidents that occur on assigned shifts
  • Provide leadership and expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Bilingual
    • Nutrition, meal planning, meal preparation – ServSafe Certified
    • Fitness
    • Medication logs, training, and adherence to policies and procedures
    • Pro-social activities
    • Academic assistance
    • Facilities and compliance
    • Therapeutic yoga
Requirements:
  • Minimum four years of related experience, such as mental or behavioral health experience with adolescents and families
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education, or a related field
  • Administrative, organizational, and computer skills, including use of email and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds, work for long periods at a computer, and drive company vehicle as needed
  • Satisfactory criminal history background check, as well as a satisfactory fingerprint records check determination as required by law
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Documentation from a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional of a health screening examination within 30 days of hiring
  • Current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a triennial training program in first aid
