Your role at The Clorox Company:

The Capital Project Management team operates within the Global Technical Services division, dedicated to achieving manufacturing innovations, product developments, cost efficiencies, and supply chain assurance projects with precision. As a member of the GTS division, you will play a vital role in supporting both consumer satisfaction and team wellbeing on a daily basis. The Global Technical Services team is pioneering advancements in high-speed packaging systems, sustainable packaging solutions, and the design of new facilities to tackle business challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct medium to large-scale capital projects/programs that involve collaboration with external technical resources.
  • Develop solutions for a variety of complex challenges utilizing comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations alongside applicable engineering principles.
  • Independently establish the general strategy and specific solutions for technical challenges, demonstrating sound judgment in decision-making and risk management.
  • Provide expert technical insights on emerging capabilities within the industry and technology to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Lead teams in the conception, development, and execution of significant technology upgrades or product enhancements. Regularly coordinate cross-functional teams focused on product improvements and line extensions.
  • Anticipate shifts in resource needs and outcomes, initiating suitable responses to optimize overall project success.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, both in written and verbal formats. Capable of building and guiding efficient teams for medium to large-scale programs.
  • Promote the application of engineering principles to drive substantial improvements in manufacturing processes.
  • Deliver fully integrated human, operational, and technical systems that achieve targeted business outcomes. Evaluate, develop, and lead projects from technical, operational, and business perspectives.
  • Adhere to and advocate for the Capital Project Management process, employing a structured approach to ensure successful system startups.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the Clorox network and external communities to enhance organizational influence.
  • Proactively address conflicts and deliver effective solutions for business challenges.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, finances, and resources to align with Clorox business objectives.
  • Work autonomously to coordinate activities while engaging with key contacts outside the immediate field. Lead both internal and external project team members.
  • Analyze complex issues using in-depth assessments and evaluate both tangible and intangible factors.
  • Exemplify and promote Clorox standards and practices within the technical community.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing technical capabilities within the organization.
  • Lead strategic planning for Communities of Practice (CoP).
  • Define clear objectives that align with organizational or community goals.
  • Develop a strategic plan to achieve CoP objectives, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify and engage key partners, including potential members and leadership sponsors.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of content, such as tools, standards, and training materials.
  • Monitor member engagement and participation, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Mentor emerging leaders and active members within the CoP.
  • Encourage leadership opportunities among members to foster community ownership and growth.
  • Facilitate communication between business partners and the SAP development team to ensure successful implementation of SAP solutions.
  • Manage the backlog of application functionalities.
  • Define and create deliverables and documentation for sprints (e.g., user stories).
  • Review and assess completed user stories based on established acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure a representative sample of regions, corporate functions, and business units is included in the solution criteria.
  • Determine the need and timing for subject matter experts (SMEs) and lead SME support.
  • Conduct showcases based on developed user stories.
  • Champion change management initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support testing processes to ensure solutions meet business requirements prior to launch.
  • Gather user feedback and make necessary adjustments to the solution.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of requirements, decisions, and changes.
  • Prepare and present progress reports and updates to partners and senior management.
  • Provide ongoing support and address any issues related to SAP solutions.
  • Travel may be required up to 40-60% based on project activities.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical knowledge and connections with industry experts. Recognized as an internal expert and builds external relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and lead others, addressing significant and unique challenges.
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership skills, capable of guiding teams through change and fostering engagement.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance technical capabilities within the GTSLT Group.
  • Champion the use of technology and establish relationships with external experts to build a technical advantage.
  • Drive necessary changes within areas of expertise.
  • Create an environment that promotes exceptional results.
  • Typical Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree, MBA, or higher (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP Fiori) and a solid understanding of their functionalities.
  • 12+ years in engineering and manufacturing operations management.
  • 5+ years leading increasingly complex capital projects and budgets.
  • 2+ years in people management (employee selection, development, coaching, career planning).
  • PMP certification (preferred).

Workplace Type:

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
