Counselor - Lead

Catholic Charities Comm is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Counselor - Lead to join our team. As a key member of our counseling program, you will provide clinical supervision, training, and coordination of activities for master's level student interns. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in the Phoenix metro area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student interns, assigning and monitoring caseloads and counseling methods.
  • Collaborate with the Diocesan Mental Health Ministry Team and Catholic school personnel to maintain consistent communication and collaboration for the wellbeing of students and families.
  • Develop relationships with local universities for recruitment of interns to support the school adjustment and counseling program.
  • Provide a broad range of counseling services, including intake, assessment, treatment planning, and psycho-educational group sessions.
  • Ensure services are clinically appropriate and provide services that are outpatient at assigned locations.
  • Collect fees, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate case records according to best practices, agency, and professional standards.
  • Coordinate clinical care with internal and external agency personnel, including supervisors, primary care physicians, and referral sources.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional codes of ethics.
  • Manage caseload to meet agency productivity requirements and follow up with new and continuing clients regarding missed appointments.
  • Stay informed of new ideas to facilitate program development and assume responsibility for professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited university, with current licensure.
  • Minimum 2 years post-Master's outpatient counseling and behavioral health experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of ethical practice, clinical assessment, DSM diagnosis, co-occurring disorders, treatment planning, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate interruptions and travel within the area on a frequent basis.
