About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ADA Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As an ADA Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal access to opportunities and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake interviews to determine eligibility for reasonable accommodations and provide support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Work with individuals to determine reasonable accommodations needed to perform the essential functions of the job and evaluate the effectiveness of accommodations.
  • Provide training on reasonable accommodation and other ADA topics for employees, supervisors, HR, and other university audiences.
  • Maintain records of outreach to ADA Services and compile reports and analyze data related to accommodations, compliance, and program efficacy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of university and student records, as applicable.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ADA regulations, guidelines, and standards as applicable to an academic and/or workplace setting.
  • Strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations to large and small audiences.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
