Job Summary

Brighter Beginnings is seeking a highly skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at the Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinics (BBFHC). As a Family Medicine Physician, you will provide primary and continuing medical care for patients, taking into account physical, emotional, and social factors when diagnosing and treating illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral to secondary and tertiary care as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Organize preventative medical programs for individual patients.
  • Provide specialist clinics for specific conditions or for certain groups, such as diabetes, pregnancy, and post-partum care.
  • Meet targets set by federal agencies for specific treatments, such as child immunizations.
  • Use Electronic Health Records to keep track of patient visits, billing, and clinical outcomes.
  • Keep up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments, and medications, including complementary medicine.
  • Observe and assess the work of other providers in the clinic.
  • Participate in quarterly clinical chart review studies to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Review any medical records as requested by providers for quality care and treatment issues.
Requirements
  • Licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine in the state of California.
  • Certified by an appropriate American Medical Specialty Board (preventive medicine, family practice, pediatrics, or internal medicine) preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

This position involves occasional exposure to disagreeable odors, fumes, or airborne particles, communicable diseases. The noise level is usually moderate.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may supervise Nurse Practitioners.
