Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with Solid Tumor Oncology, Hematology Oncology, and Surgical Oncology needs. This role requires a high level of clinical knowledge and skills to meet the standards of the Medical Oncology Unit at Sentara CarePlex Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and admit patients, providing individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Round checks and medication administration are key responsibilities, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of care.
  • Communicate effectively with family members, providing emotional support and education on patient care.
  • Lead the overall care of patients, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions.

Requirements:

  • Associate's, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
