Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with solid tumor oncology, hematology oncology, and surgical oncology needs. The RN will work in a 16-bed unit at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, providing chemotherapy and biotherapy drug administration, pre/post-surgical care, and hospice and palliative care. The RN will also be responsible for assessing and admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, and communicating with family members. The RN will work in a team environment to provide excellent care to patients and their families.

Requirements:

The RN must have a degree or diploma from an accredited registered nursing program, a registered nurse license, or be a student in the process of completing an accredited nursing program. The RN must also have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and meet any additional requirements defined by specific specialty. The RN must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
