Job Summary

The Store Operations Manager at Rack Room Shoes is responsible for assisting in the supervision and management of all day-to-day store operations. This includes ensuring compliance with established Company policies and procedures, providing leadership and guidance to store staff, and assuming full responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is the safety and welfare of employees and customers.
  • Create, establish, and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience by maintaining and reinforcing current service level standards, providing service training and leadership to staff members, and managing customer issues with a sense of urgency and to the satisfaction of our customer.
  • Process all POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure, including sales, discounts, and refunds, loyalty, open and closing procedures.
  • Manage inventory control responsibilities, including adherence to all policies and procedures in regards to shipping and receiving, price management, singles, damaged merchandise, and conducting a physical inventory.
  • Oversee sales floor merchandising and visual presentation responsibilities, including adherence to company standards for merchandise placement, sales floor maintenance and housekeeping, promotional event directions, materials, and signage.
  • Manage payroll control responsibilities, including adherence to all policies and procedures in regards to scheduling, payroll budget compliance, time and attendance.
  • Develop and train direct reports, including adherence to all policies and procedures in regards to utilizing all available training tools and consistent reinforcement of customer service standards.
  • Contribute to loss prevention efforts, including adherence to all policies and procedures in regards to the protection and control of all Company assets.

Working Relationships

The Store Operations Manager will work closely with customers, sales associates, store management, district/regional manager, and store operations and training personnel.
