Patient Visitor Parking Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Patient Visitor Parking Manager is responsible for overseeing all parking operations at designated patient and visitor parking areas at VCU Health. This includes managing parking access and control systems, cash collections, handling, and reconciliation, as well as staffing and scheduling, parking area cleanliness, and shuttle services for patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage parking access and control systems to ensure efficient and secure parking operations
  • Oversee cash collections, handling, and reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records
  • Supervise staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and effective use of resources
  • Maintain parking area cleanliness and functionality to ensure a positive experience for patients and visitors
  • Coordinate shuttle services for patients and visitors, including on-demand and routine services
  • Collaborate with Security and VCU Police to ensure that only authorized individuals park in designated areas
  • Provide supervision for the guest services validator, deck cashiers, and maintenance staff
  • Ensure financial control management for valet parking and visitor parking services
  • Work with vendors to complete projects associated with the repair and maintenance of patient parking areas
  • Provide management support for valet parking services as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in parking management, with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory/management position
  • Thorough knowledge of parking operations and maintenance, with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to frequent change

Working Conditions:

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions; cold, hot, dust, wind, etc. May have periods of constant interruptions. Prolonged periods of working alone.

Lifting/Carrying (0-50 lbs.), Push/Pull (0-50 lbs.), Stoop, Kneel, Squat, Bending. Sitting, Walking, Standing. Manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination), Perform Shift Work. Hazards: Use of Latex Gloves, Exposure to toxic/caustic/chemicals/detergents, Exposure to dust/fumes.
