About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at VHC Health. As a Surgical Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect total nursing care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to assigned personnel, ensuring effective and efficient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain current certifications and licensure, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • One year of experience in an acute care setting, with a focus on surgical nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing.
  • BLS certification required, with ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent interruptions and long hours. You will be exposed to routine occupational hazards, including infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and musculoskeletal injuries. Personal protective equipment will be provided as needed.
