Role Overview:
As a Carrier Procurement Specialist within our Brokerage division, your primary responsibility will be to identify, negotiate, and secure carrier partnerships to ensure timely and cost-effective freight movement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with core carriers while negotiating contracts for freight transportation.
  • Engage in continuous communication with carriers and clients to guarantee a seamless freight movement experience.
  • Proactively inform all stakeholders about route modifications, delays, and any freight-related concerns.
  • Schedule pickup and delivery appointments, utilizing sound judgment to consider various factors affecting timelines, such as weather and traffic conditions.
  • Adhere to established protocols for handling High-Value Shipments (HVS) and Hazardous Cargo (HRC) to maintain shipment integrity and uphold the RXO brand.
  • Accurately update and maintain data within the company's operational systems.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential leads and initiate outreach to prospective carriers.
  • Monitor billing and invoicing processes to ensure the accuracy of carrier charges.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in procurement.
Preferred:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1 year of experience in the transportation sector.
  • 2 years of experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently within defined parameters.
