Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to join our team at Aldi. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily receiving and shipping of products, ensuring that our stores receive the products they need to serve our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and modify daily work schedules to meet warehouse needs
  • Coordinate job activities and tasks of direct reports on a daily and/or extended basis
  • Oversee the daily receiving of product and/or oversee the daily selection and shipping of product to stores
  • Monitor processes for inbound and outbound deliveries to ensure compliance with established guidelines
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Model the company strategy and communicate the core values of the organization to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees
  • Interact effectively with peers through ongoing communication and exchange of information
  • Collaborate with other divisional operational areas and communicate relevant information
  • Communicate with District Managers and store management as appropriate
  • Provide input and recommendations to the Warehouse Operations Manager regarding changes to improve the operation
  • Monitor all companies providing service within the warehouse to ensure acceptable performance
  • Ensure communication with the in-house carrier of daily schedule changes and needs
  • Monitor the competitive environment within the community and inform management regarding adjustments necessary to maintain the company's competitive position
  • Recommend personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
  • Address warehouse issues, escalate and/or refer concerns to peers, 3rd parties, or other management as appropriate
  • Oversee the activities of warehouse personnel, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of day-to-day operations
  • Lead, plan and facilitate regularly scheduled Warehouse Associate meetings
  • Train and develop direct reports to achieve their maximum professional potential
  • Observe and evaluate employees' work performance, provide feedback and coaching as appropriate
  • Supervise the timely, accurate and efficient storage of product, supplies and equipment
  • Supervise warehouse teams to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, maintenance and operational safety guidelines and procedures
  • Oversee warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  • Monitor and manage controllable expenses, provide appropriate inventory and efficiency results and make employee payroll adjustments as necessary
  • Ensure a safe environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • Manage direct reports to ensure they comply with established policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to recommend, interpret, and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company
  • Ability to manage direct reports relating to training, development, motivation, retention and discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to evaluate work performance and motivate behavior change among direct reports when necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and performance of direct reports
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively within a group
  • Ability to facilitate group involvement when conducting meetings
