Job Title: FT Peer Specialist

Outreach Development is seeking a qualified candidate for the Full-time Peer Specialist position. The successful candidate will report to the Care Coordinator.

Job Summary:

The FT Peer Specialist will engage and connect with individuals who have a behavioral health disorder and/or their families. The ideal candidate will have direct experience of challenges with substance use and/or mental health conditions and will assist with identifying and engaging individuals eligible for our CCBHC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct community outreach and provide community education to reduce stigma of MAT/substance use disorder
  • Engage clients to receive behavioral health services (SUD)
  • Provide NARCAN education kits and liaise with community in making appropriate referrals for care
  • Assist program staff in identifying and engaging individuals in need of services
  • Assist in driving Outreach minivan
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED and/or 2 years work or volunteer experience in a recovery-oriented setting
  • CRPA, CRPA P
  • Lived experience with and knowledge of, the challenges pertaining to substance use and/or mental health conditions
  • Clean driving record
Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outside in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Must be able to travel among assigned sites and locations as needed.
