Position Overview: ELA Teacher

We are seeking a passionate educator who is dedicated to fostering creativity and independence in students, while offering a competitive salary and opportunities for professional and personal development. Our mission is to create a lasting impact on the lives of our students and their communities.

About Ednovate

Ednovate operates a network of public, tuition-free, high-performing college preparatory high schools located in Los Angeles and Orange County. We focus on serving first-generation college-bound students from historically underserved backgrounds. Our students boast a remarkable college acceptance rate, but our true achievement lies in nurturing self-aware, engaged young adults who are poised to lead lives of purpose and influence.

Our diverse team includes globe-trotters, culinary enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and music aficionados. We take pride in our communities and are committed to supporting our students in their journeys. We are in search of innovative educators who are eager to help us establish ourselves as leaders in high school education throughout Southern California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Equity: Ensure that every student, regardless of their background, has access to a high-quality, personalized college preparatory experience.
  • Engage Deeply: Prepare for an in-depth exploration of content. Our educators develop and implement a state-of-the-art digital curriculum aligned with Common Core and NGSS Standards.
  • Empower Student Success: Act as a catalyst for student learning, guiding scholars to achieve their full academic and personal potential throughout their high school years.
  • Cultivate Relationships: Through advisory roles, mentor a consistent group of students over their four years, building strong connections with them and their families.
Ideal Candidate:

  • A Committed Learner: We value professional development and are dedicated to enhancing academic outcomes for all students through innovative training.
  • A Collaborative Community Member: Become part of a vibrant school environment that values vision and purpose, where we support each other, engage in discussions, solve problems, and celebrate our collective achievements.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with a proven track record of enhancing student learning.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • California Single Subject Teaching Credential preferred, or an out-of-state credential with a clear path to obtaining a California credential.
  • A growth mindset and adaptability to change.
  • Strong teamwork and effective communication skills.
  • A belief in the potential of all Ednovate students to succeed in college and contribute positively to their communities.
What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary starting at $63,250, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with family leave benefits.
  • Generous paid time off and holiday schedule.
  • 403b retirement savings plan with company matching up to 3%.
  • A supportive environment for growth, learning, and community engagement.
Additional Information:

This position is exempt, in-person, and follows an 11-month schedule. While a California Single Subject Teaching Credential is preferred, we are committed to assisting high-quality candidates in achieving full credentialing.
