Role Summary:

The primary function of the Kindergarten Teacher is to facilitate the learning process by developing lesson plans and delivering instruction tailored to individual and group needs within established curriculum guidelines. This role involves collaboration with fellow educators and staff to address classroom and school-wide challenges while responding to inquiries from parents regarding academic and social-emotional matters. The ideal candidate will have experience with project-based learning and the workshop model, and possess a strong commitment to fostering a love for learning among students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish weekly objectives aligned with the Common Core and Missouri Learning Standards.
  • Facilitate engaging, hands-on activities that promote experiential learning.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Utilize effective discipline models to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Implement instructional strategies that actively engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Adapt instructional resources to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
  • Assist in evaluating curricular needs and propose improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient record-keeping procedures.
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages student participation in the learning process.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the educational experience.
  • Model professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Take responsibility for achieving student performance goals.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education.
  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven success in urban educational settings.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to promote the school's mission to a diverse audience.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and flexibility.

  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.

Key Relationships: Collaborate with teachers, students, parents, volunteers, office staff, support staff, and school leadership.
