Job Summary:

The Child Life Specialist collaborates with the healthcare team to provide age-specific activities that meet the developmental needs of pediatric patients.

Works with patients and families to help them cope with hospitalization, procedures, and surgeries through therapeutic play, education, and interventions.

Utilizes interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service, ensure safe patient care, and maintain professionalism.

Contributes to a work environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity.

Performs other duties as needed.



Education and Experience:

A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Life/Child Development or a related field is required.

500 hours of Child Life internship and one year of experience in child development/education are required.

Experience in a hospital-based Child Life program is preferred.



Knowledge and Skills:

Able to:

Licensures and Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.

Child Life Certification exam must be completed within one year of hire.
