Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to meat team members to ensure efficient and effective department operations.
  • Work with the team trainer to train meat team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Assist in training new meat team members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials.
  • Resolve difficult customer situations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure all necessary breaks are given to meat team members.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct meat team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel meat team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Communicate and maintain meat team member safety and security standards.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
  • Consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.
Requirements

  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
  • Experience 12+ months retail experience.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday and have excellent hand use, including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling. The role also requires the ability to work in a wet and cold environment and handle knives and other cutting equipment.
