Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Equipment Technician to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper processing and sterilization of medical equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and manage the workflow of the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting the needs of the Operating Room and other departments.

• Verify that all equipment and instruments required for procedures have been accounted for and prepared according to established guidelines.

• Work with the Supervisor to maintain designated levels of sterile and non-sterile supplies for the department and hospital.

• Instruct and mentor new employees in prioritizing workflow during peak and emergency situations.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of three years of job-related experience

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician required

Working Conditions

• Manual skills and motor coordination required

• Significant occupational risk

• Very Heavy effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. force

• Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste
