Position Overview

The Residential Loan Officer will play a crucial role in fostering and nurturing connections with Renasant Bank Branch Managers, real estate agents, and construction professionals within a specified service area. The primary objective is to drive the production of various residential loan products, including conforming, conventional, FHA, and VA loans, as well as any emerging offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate a diverse range of residential loans for one to four family units.
  • Set and maintain written objectives in collaboration with the Mortgage Banking Department.
  • Coordinate loan production efforts across the designated service area.
  • Keep an updated status report on all loan applications in progress.
  • Provide monthly updates on outreach efforts to banks, realtors, and builders.
  • Engage with the Mortgage Banking department to clarify any program changes or updates for branch staff.
  • Consult with potential borrowers to identify suitable loan products.
  • Arrange meetings to assist clients in completing loan applications at convenient locations.
  • Collect necessary documentation for mortgage closings promptly.
  • Support clients with any closing contingencies.
  • Prepare Good Faith Estimates and Truth-In-Lending disclosures within the required timeframe.
  • Deliver weekly progress reports on loan applications to realtors, when applicable.
  • Educate branch personnel on conforming loan requirements and customer inquiries.
  • Build strong relationships within the local real estate community by regularly communicating with realtors, builders, and legal professionals.
  • Conduct market surveys to stay informed about local trends.
  • Identify priority accounts and maintain regular contact with them.
  • Facilitate seminars for local realtors and new associates on various lending topics.
  • Participate actively in local mortgage production affiliations.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations and internal policies relevant to the role.
  • Attend designated production meetings as required.
  • Maintain necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Work independently in an outside sales capacity, requiring reliable transportation.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to originate residential mortgage products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FHLMC/FNMA, FHA, VA, and general mortgage banking procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with the public.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to grasp regulatory guidelines and procedures.
  • Professional representation of Renasant Bank, emphasizing a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions in line with regulatory standards.
  • Reliable transportation is essential for fulfilling job responsibilities.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements of this role include the ability to stand, sit, kneel, and reach, as well as the capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
