Position Overview: Senior Mortgage Banker for Community Engagement

The Senior Mortgage Banker for Community Engagement will cultivate and sustain partnerships with branch managers, real estate professionals, and builders within the designated service area to drive the production of various residential mortgage products, including conforming, conventional, FHA, and VA loans. This role will also collaborate with the Mortgage Retail Division Manager to design educational initiatives aimed at increasing mortgage origination for low-to-moderate income borrowers and minority communities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multicultural outreach initiatives for the Mortgage Division.
  • Promote Renasant's mission in community development by offering loans that qualify for Community Reinvestment Act credit.
  • Establish Renasant Bank as a leading partner to multicultural organizations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Retail sales team regarding multicultural and CRA opportunities.
  • Document a minimum of two multicultural outreach activities weekly.
  • Serve as the Community Outreach and Mortgage Originator Representative for the Retail Mortgage Division.
  • Collaborate with the Mortgage Division sales team to conduct educational seminars and training on mortgage products.
  • Originate a variety of 1-4 family residential loans.
  • Set and maintain written goals in partnership with the Mortgage Banking Department.
  • Coordinate loan production across the assigned service area.
  • Maintain a detailed status report of all loan applications in progress.
  • Provide monthly reports on outreach efforts to banks, realtors, and builders.
  • Guide prospective borrowers in identifying suitable loan products.
  • Arrange meetings to assist customers in completing mortgage applications.
  • Collect necessary documentation for loan closings in a timely manner.
  • Support customers with closing contingencies.
  • Prepare accurate Loan Estimates within 72 hours of application submission.
  • Update realtors on loan progress as needed.
  • Educate branch staff on conforming loan requirements and customer inquiries.
  • Build relationships with the local real estate community to identify mortgage needs.
  • Conduct regular market surveys.
  • Establish priority accounts and maintain weekly visits.
  • Facilitate seminars for realtors and new associates on various lending topics.
  • Engage actively in local mortgage production affiliations.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations as well as internal policies.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in originating 1-4 family residential mortgage products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending procedures and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with the public.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and adapt.
  • Professional representation of Renasant Bank.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the Bank's service area.
