Job DescriptionJob Description

BASIC PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for the review and processing of all loan file exceptions by verifying if they satisfy bank policy and federal regulations. They will also establish

document tracking for any exception types that reoccur throughout the life cycle of the loan. This staff member is responsible for ensuring the exceptions are cleared on a timely basis and will

communicate appropriately with lending staff to accomplish these tasks.


Supports the Post-Closing Lead in the following areas:

Complete quality control for exception review of all consumer, commercial, real estate, agricultural and government-guaranteed loans.

Review financials, tax returns and tax payment receipts to ensure they comply with bank policy in relation to loan type and borrower’s total debt.

Confirm collateral and supporting loan documents are all present and correctly executed to clear document exception.

Ensure proper policy, procedural and compliance adherence in accordance with state laws and federal regulations.

Assess loan file conformity with BankFirst loan policies, procedures and determine if exception meets the standards to clear.

Ensure exceptions are cleared timely and appropriately resolved to meet bank policy and regulatory standards.

Serve as a resource to Lenders, Loan Assistants, Loan Operations personnel, and other Post-Closing & Exception Processing Reps by providing guidance and/or consultation on documentation, policy, or procedural issues.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Extensive work experience in consumer, commercial and/or real estate lending-related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Comprehensive knowledge in loan compliance and regulatory requirements, with strong understanding of loan documentation for commercial, consumer and real estate loans.

Strong customer service, written and verbal communication skills.

Effective organizational and time-management skills, with an attention to detail

Ability to handle heavy volumes of work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.

Excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.

Sufficient PC and technical skills necessary to perform related job duties. Required software skills include Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to work independently without supervision.

Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to communicate in a professional manner with various employees throughout the bank.

Good problem resolution skills.
