Job Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for executing a variety of maintenance tasks and repairs on essential equipment and machinery utilized within the organization. This role involves operating critical machinery necessary for maintenance and repair operations, as well as managing, modifying, and repairing diverse air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Adheres to the organization's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and relevant state, federal, and local regulations. 1. Conducts various maintenance activities, including filter replacements, lubrication of components, and cabinet repairs. 2.

Performs electrical repairs on devices such as bed lamps, basic electrical devices, changing ballasts, fixing electrical cords, and troubleshooting light switches and fuses.

3. Executes electrical safety assessments on equipment, plugs, and outlets. 4. Clears blockages in pipes and plumbing fixtures as needed. 5.

Handles routine repairs on equipment including stethoscopes, otoscopes, vacuum units, autoclaves, and other hospital-related machinery.

Completes work assignments that involve the installation of plant equipment, hanging signage, and maintaining timekeeping devices.

Identifies the nature and extent of equipment malfunctions, disassembling, repairing, or replacing parts as necessary; reassembles and tests equipment to ensure safe and effective operation by interpreting blueprints and repair manuals.

8.

Implements preventative maintenance practices, including cleaning, oiling, painting, and calibrating equipment to prolong its lifespan and maintain a hygienic work environment.

9. Assists skilled maintenance personnel in various trade tasks through on-the-job training. 10. Maintains and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including related electrical circuit analysis. 11.

Troubleshoots and repairs associated equipment such as thermostats and ice machines.

12. Repairs complex electrical devices requiring schematic and wiring diagram interpretation. 13.

Conducts circuit analysis to identify defective electrical components using precision testing equipment, replacing faulty components, and ensuring equipment is operational and safe.

14.

Modifies equipment or plant structures through welding techniques, utilizing both electrical and oxygen-acetylene methods.

15. Performs locksmithing duties, including key cutting and lock installation, while managing a key control system. 16.

Undertakes additional responsibilities as required, including driving to remote locations to facilitate maintenance needs.

17.

Enhances customer service for internal and external clients by demonstrating skills aligned with the organization's commitment to exceptional service.

Assume other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience

This position requires proficiency in at least 2 out of the following 3 skill areas:
1) 2 years of recent experience with steam-related equipment, holding either the LA Unlimited Steam License or the 500 HP LA City Steam License.

2) 2 years of recent Journeyman-level electrical experience with a passing score on relevant knowledge and performance assessments.

3) Experience in air-conditioning/refrigeration, with those qualifying needing to possess EPA Rule 608 Universal Certification and a passing score on the air-conditioning knowledge and performance assessments.

Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems are essential. Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local codes is required.


Additional Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:
Four (4) years of experience in building plant operations and maintenance is preferred. Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting is also preferred.

Weekend rotation may be required.
