Job Title: Space Vehicle Concept Design Engineer

At The Aerospace Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled Space Vehicle Concept Design Engineer to join our team. As a member of our Enterprise Effects Division, you will be responsible for designing innovative space vehicle and ground segment solutions to meet the most pressing mission needs of our US Space Force, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead early-stage design studies for spacecraft concepts, including small, individual efforts and larger, multidisciplinary teams of subject matter experts.
  • Develop and maintain tools and models used during spacecraft concept design and analysis activities.
  • Establish strong working relationships with government, program office, and contractor personnel, as well as other members of Aerospace's engineering group.
  • Develop as a subject matter expert in spacecraft-level systems engineering to support execution of customer programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience in the space industry or related fields.
  • Knowledge and/or relevant coursework in spacecraft subsystems and systems engineering topics.
  • Experience with concurrent engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to excel in a collaborative environment.
