The successful candidate will possess practical experience in mentoring and training personnel, along with robust organizational and reporting capabilities. This role requires a resourceful thinker who is committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to rewarding and meaningful employment opportunities tailored to their specific needs and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Director of Vocational Services to oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to relevant state and federal guidelines.
- Design and execute innovative programs and strategies to improve employment training results for individuals with disabilities.
- Assess program performance and provide data-informed suggestions for enhancements.
Leadership and Supervision:
- Directly engage with and mentor a team of vocational specialists, job coaches, and additional support personnel.
- Cultivate a collaborative and nurturing team atmosphere that encourages professional development.
- Offer guidance and assistance to staff in navigating complex employment scenarios, overcoming obstacles to goal attainment, and resolving issues.
Goal Development:
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive training programs aimed at enhancing job readiness and employability skills.
- Support staff in establishing clear objectives and individualized lesson plans.
- Monitor and evaluate progress towards goals.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings to address challenges and identify suitable technology and assistive devices.
Administrative Duties:
- Oversee scheduling, reporting, and documentation processes.
- Ensure precise record-keeping and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with budget management and resource distribution for vocational services initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Experience in vocational services is preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant state regulations governing employment services for individuals with disabilities is advantageous, though training will be provided if necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing and supervising teams.
- Ability to think innovatively and devise creative solutions to complex challenges.
