Electric Vehicle Fleet Technician

Position Overview
The Electric Vehicle Fleet Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining a diverse fleet of both production and experimental vehicles.
In this capacity, the individual will conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on electric vehicle (EV) powertrain systems, as well as traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
This position operates on a first shift schedule and requires attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed work orders and instructions from various engineering teams.
The candidate must thrive in a dynamic environment and possess the foresight to anticipate the next steps in the workflow. Proficiency in various manufacturer-specific software and internal service tools is essential. The technician should also be capable of providing clear descriptions and reports of any issues encountered in the field. Competence in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fleet maintenance and repairs on class 4-8 trucks.
- Diagnose and repair EV powertrains.
- Troubleshoot faults in both EV and ICE vehicles.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, and both verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting engineering activities or in automotive/diesel mechanics, or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Strong understanding of EV powertrain mechanics, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Proficient in advanced electrical diagnostics.
- Experience with calibration updates using service tools such as Cummins InSite or similar.
- Familiarity with CAN-based data links and communication buses.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
