HealthCare Support is currently seeking a dedicated Intravenous Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Sterile Compounding area, ensuring compliance with USP 797 standards for high-risk pharmacies.
  • Operate under the direct oversight of a Registered Pharmacist, accurately filling prescriptions and preparing sterile compounds in accordance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Possess knowledge of medications related to Long-Term Care and high-risk pregnancy treatments.
  • Prepare and fill medication orders for residents in long-term care facilities.
  • Handle compounding of sterile medications and syringes in a controlled clean room environment, including preparation from non-sterile powders as directed.
  • Assist with data entry and communicate with nursing homes for refill requests.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and accountability of infusion pumps.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering calls, and stocking supplies in the IV department.
  • Collaborate with the Lead IV Technician to uphold a safe and clean workspace, including equipment checks for safety and calibration.
  • Manage the replenishment and upkeep of Emergency Drug Kits (EDK) for Long-Term Care Facilities.
  • Communicate any concerns regarding USP 797 compliance and operational issues to the Pharmacist or Supervisor.
  • Oversee the shipping and tracking of medication packages as necessary.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience as an IV pharmacy technician.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Licenses/Certifications as mandated by state regulations (not required in the state of PA).
Preferred:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a specialized pharmacy environment.

Compensation: $21/hour - $23/hour
