Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Supervisor to join our team at PharMerica. As a Pharmacy Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and guiding our pharmacy technicians, overseeing workflow and scheduling, and providing direction and feedback to ensure exceptional customer service and top-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians
  • Oversee pharmacy technician workflow and scheduling
  • Provide adequate structure, direction, and feedback to pharmacy technician staff
  • Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards
  • Prepares medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding
  • May perform tasks such as working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room, working with automated machines to prepack drugs, managing inventory functions, and inputting patient data and medication orders into a computer system
  • Maintain equipment by ordering, stocking, and organizing supplies and delivery orders
  • Ensure technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensures productivity and accuracy standards are adhered to
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting; leadership experience
  • Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system; ability to operate a computer; workflow management skills; scheduling skills; performance management
  • Licenses/Certifications: As required by state regulations and business needs
