Job Overview

The Facilities Operations Technician at The dReam Center Church of Atlanta (TdRC) plays a vital role in managing the church's facilities by overseeing maintenance schedules and ensuring that all upkeep tasks are performed efficiently. This position is accountable to the Chief Operations Officer.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the church's appearance, cleanliness, and functionality.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures for the facility before and after services, meetings, and office hours.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including repairs to structural elements such as windows, doors, and walls, as well as painting, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and lighting.
  • Restock dispensers (hand sanitizer, soap, paper towels) and perform cleaning duties, including vacuuming and trash removal.
  • Manage work orders for repairs, inspections, and supply orders.
  • Under supervision, carry out various skilled and semi-skilled trades work related to the maintenance and construction of TdRC facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain security, climate control, and other facility systems.
  • Oversee and guide volunteer work assignments.
  • Monitor contractors and maintenance personnel to ensure safety and efficiency on-site.
  • Review plans and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Utilize available resources to manage projects, purchases, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
  • Organize and maintain an efficient inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Address facility emergencies that may arise outside of regular hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Pre-Service and Post-Service Duties:
  • Implement building opening and closing protocols.
  • Conduct inspections as per the Facilities Checklist.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC climate control issues as necessary.
  • Perform trash collection inside and outside the building between scheduled cleanings.

During Service Responsibilities:
  • Address maintenance requests related to safety hazards.
  • Implement immediate damage control for plumbing issues, including leaks and floods.
  • Provide prompt response to electrical issues, such as severed wires or shortages.

Additional Tasks:
  • Coordinate deliveries with vendors.
  • Manage facilities-related pickups.
  • Assist in staging and designing areas for events.
  • Set up and dismantle arrangements for multi-purpose rooms and common areas.
  • Ensure rooms are adequately equipped and stocked.
  • Handle emergency cleaning situations as required.
  • Support the training of Facilities volunteers.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience (Required)
  • Valid Driver's License (Required)
  • Technical certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and task management software (e.g., Asana).
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to collaborate effectively across teams to provide necessary support.
  • Exhibits good work habits and time management skills.
  • Commits to maintaining a safe working environment.
