About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to join our Voter Services team at University Enterprises. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the coordination of elections in California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to state elected officials, county elections officials, staff members, candidates for elected offices, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist voters in person, by phone, and through written correspondence.
  • Open and sort voter registration cards and other mail.
  • Answer live calls or retrieve phone messages from the voter hotline.
  • Assist with mass mail-outs, including creating spreadsheets, packets, and labels, distributing voter education and outreach materials, and using Microsoft Office Suite to assist staff with various projects and statistical programs.
  • Assist with election night results reporting and attend outreach events to educate and register voters.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with general office procedures.
  • Exceptional customer service skills in a professional office setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a group or team setting.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the public and all levels of staff.
  • Reliability and strong language and grammar skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual, preferably with Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Tagalog, Thai, Khmer, and Hindi speaking skills.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee. The work schedule will be determined by the supervisor, with flexible workdays and hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM.

Physical Requirements

Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners, with or without reasonable accommodation.
