Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Service Assistant to join our team at Denny's. As a key member of our restaurant staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our dining room and service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the restaurant, ensuring all areas are clean and organized.
  • Keep dining room tables cleaned and sanitized, and maintain adequate supplies of dishes, glassware, and utensils.
  • Ensure the front and back of the house areas are clean, organized, and stocked at all times.
  • Exhibit Denny's Guiding Principles when interacting with guests and team members.
  • Perform sidework and other deep cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Assist with stocking deliveries and rotating perishable stock in accordance with standards.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to guests and team members.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grab.
  • Ability to work inside and outside, and to observe wares for cleanliness and chemical labels for safe handling.
  • Ability to stand and walk during a 4 to 8 hour shift, and to frequently immerse hands in water.
  • Ability to work with all Denny's menu products, and to meet any state, county, or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas, and to work with potentially hazardous chemicals.
Qualifications
  • Able to work in a team environment and meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards.
  • Meets Denny's training requirements and is able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Possesses excellent guest service skills and places a value on diversity and shows respect for others.
