Surgical Technologist II at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania

As a Surgical Technologist II at Penn Medicine, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care for our patients. You will work collaboratively with top clinical, technical, and business professionals across all disciplines to provide a safe and efficient operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse.
- Facilitate patient care by meeting specific nursing care requirements and assisting in the performance of patient care measures.
- Inform the registered nurse of any signs, symptoms, or untoward responses.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify patients according to HUP Policy before carrying out functions.
- Carry out HUP fire and safety regulations.
- Wash hands before and after patient contact.
- Carry out isolation procedures according to Infection Control Manual.
- Report needle stick injuries to the charge nurse.
- Report exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
Requirements:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of continuous recent surgical technologist experience.
