At the Commonwealth of Virginia, we are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the outpatient setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing medical care to patients with complex immunologic and rheumatologic diseases.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend outpatient clinics to provide medical care to patients with complex rheumatology conditions.
- Perform follow-up patient visits for general rheumatology patients.
- Coordinate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure integrated patient care.
- Communicate with referring physicians and their offices regarding patient problems and progress.
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide counseling and instruction regarding patient problems.
- Order medications as specified by the NP license and as directed by the supervising physician.
- Provide follow-up health maintenance care, including adjusting patients' medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare and dictate summaries of patient evaluations and follow-up care.
- Master's Degree as an Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- One to two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
- Licensure: Must be a nurse practitioner licensed to practice in Virginia as a NP.
- Special training and/or certification in Rheumatology required.
The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending, and stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are necessary, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull 20-50lbs is also required.
