Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider - Plastic & Maxillofacial Surgery

The Department of Plastic & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support post-operative and wound patients with both our inpatient and outpatient surgical teams.

Job Summary:

The successful applicant will be an APP interested in working full-time (40 hours/week) including inpatient morning rounding three days a week with some ambulatory clinical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold their own clinic and diagnose and treat patients for general post-operative and wound care.
  • Provide professional services to evaluate and treat post-surgical and wound patients, facilitate appropriate consultations and referrals, coordinate hospital discharge, outpatient appointments and testing.
  • Perform bedside procedures such as debridement and post-surgical dressing changes, and contribute to the education of learners.
  • Collaborate with plastic surgery attendings, fellows, and APP colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree as an Advance Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or as an Advance Practice Provider - Physician Assistant.
  • One to two years minimum experience as an Advanced Practice Provider Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
  • License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
Working Conditions:

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling/bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
