UVA Health Critical Care Opportunity

The University of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join its Medical ICU team. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in managing a population of critically ill patients at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA.

Working in a collaborative team environment, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and initiating medical processes and procedures. You will also perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, formulate diagnoses, and identify health risk profiles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to ICU consultations from the emergency department and acute care floors
  • Performing and documenting history & physical exams, and analyzing clinical data to form well-developed differential diagnoses and care plans
  • Prescribing appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, following patient responses, and adjusting the plan of care based on ongoing objective and subjective data collection
  • Regular collaboration within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, nurses, therapists, and physician and advanced practice leadership
  • Consistently billing for critical and non-critical care services

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree
  • Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies
