Position Summary:
The role involves assessing, evaluating, and managing medication therapies for patients of all ages, addressing various medical conditions in both outpatient and emergency settings. Pharmacists with a Doctorate may have independent prescriptive authority as per contract regulations. The position requires collaboration with healthcare practitioners to provide essential medication information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and participate in other relevant healthcare and administrative committees as directed by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
  • Maintain unsupervised access to the Pharmacy Department and oversee all personnel with pharmacy access.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations governing medication procurement, storage, distribution, and usage.
  • Review and update departmental policies to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct monthly audits of medications and maintain required records for all medications.
  • Manage medication stock levels, ensuring budget adherence while overseeing expired medication returns.
  • Perform medication reconciliation during patient entry and discharge from acute care settings.
  • Engage in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary hospital committees and administrative projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a practicing pharmacist.
  • Current pharmacist license and registration in any U.S. state or territory that permits independent clinical practice.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) is required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements:
Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and standing, with occasional bending and lifting of up to 15 lbs.

Additional Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, and compliance with security clearance requirements are essential. A valid passport is required for potential relocation.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation ranges from $180,000 to $190,000, based on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with a 401k plan and paid time off.
