Position Summary:
This role is contingent upon the award of a contract. The Clinical Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate filling of prescriptions and adherence to provider instructions regarding medications. This position supervises pharmacy technicians and collaborates closely with the medical team to guarantee that pharmaceutical treatments align with patient needs and diagnoses.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree from an accredited Pharmacy School recognized by the state board of Pharmacy or the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License, free from any pending adverse actions.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Proficiency in English for effective communication.
- Eligibility for US Department of State clearance.
- Willingness to relocate as required.
- Possession of a valid U.S. passport prior to relocation.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience on military sites or as a government contractor is advantageous.
- Recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months within the past year.
- Experience in both Hospital and Ambulatory Pharmacy, with expertise in outpatient and inpatient drug therapies.
Required Skills:
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to sudden changes in work requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver medical services as a Pharmacist to maintain the health of employees and clients.
- Accurately fill prescriptions and verify physician instructions regarding medication dosages.
- Assess patient drug contraindications and verify dosage regimens for accuracy.
- Compound and dispense medications for patient care areas.
- Ensure timely and accurate filling of prescriptions.
- Provide medication information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Participate in medical care conferences as directed.
- Maintain security and accurate logs for controlled substances.
- Manage inventory levels of frequently used medications.
- Develop a resupply system for critical medications.
- File prescriptions post-filling and oversee pharmacy technicians' work.
- Perform administrative tasks, including answering phones and stocking shelves.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with standard protocols.
- Actively engage in Mass Casualty exercises and other assigned duties.
