The University of Miami, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist with a strong focus and expertise in non-invasive and advanced cardiac imaging to enhance its academic and clinical initiatives.
This full-time faculty role offers an academic rank that reflects clinical and scholarly achievements.The selected faculty member will engage with patients in both outpatient and inpatient environments, contributing to care at multiple locations and is expected to be actively involved in research and the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
The UM/Holtz Children's Heart Center provides a comprehensive suite of diagnostic and procedural services, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult congenital cardiac surgery, interventional catheterization, and both invasive and non-invasive electrophysiology procedures.
Programs at the Children's Heart Center include adult congenital cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, fetal and neonatal care, and heart failure/mechanical circulatory support, all supported by a dedicated team of cardiac anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, and skilled nursing and advanced practice providers.
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is recognized as the leading private medical school for research in Florida and is the first accredited medical school established in the state.
With a faculty of over 1900, the Miller School is dedicated to pioneering research in various fields, including genetics, stem cell science, diabetes, cancer, public health, and innovative areas such as precision medicine.
The Pediatrics department, comprising 140 faculty members, is the second largest on campus and boasts the most extensive portfolio of grants and contracts.Inpatient pediatric services are primarily delivered at the 250-bed Holtz Children's Hospital, which is ranked by USNWR and offers the most comprehensive range of services for children in Florida.
The Department of Pediatrics also provides services at two additional hospitals within the Jackson Health System, which ranks as the third largest hospital system in the United States.
Outpatient cardiology services are available at various locations throughout the region. The Department of Pediatrics trains nearly 130 house staff annually, including 88 residents and six categorical cardiology fellows.Comprehensive research facilities are accessible at the Batchelor Children's Research Institute and the Batchelor Research Building, which accommodates the Pediatric Cardiology Division's basic science faculty researchers.
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology hosts the biannual Frank Hernandez Lecture, honoring Florida's first Pediatric Cardiologist.

Desired Qualifications:
MD/DO required. Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida. Exceptional clinical skills and significant teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated research success is preferred.
